The Day we Moved 3 Pianos
Last year we were asked by Mr Irvine of St Mary’s Church Sanderstead if we could move 3, yes 3 Baby Grand Pianos for them. Not the sort of job we do everyday, I must admit.
The first was to be picked up from Sanderstead and taken to St Mary’s Church, the second (from St Mary’s) was to be taken to the church hall round the corner, and the third to be taken from the Church hall to a local parishioner.
Each piano had to be dismantled, (legs off, etc..) placed onto a piano ‘shoe’ moved to it’s new location and re-assembled in position. We sent a team of four members of staff along to carry out the work.
They arrived at 9.30am (after the Church Service) and with all three pianos safely in place, they were done and dusted and back at the yard by 1.30pm.
Moving a piano isn`t particularly difficult as long as you have the right equipment, the right vehicles, and the right number of trained staff to move it.
